Well, I haven't driven my car since then. Stock tire size was 18x7, but with the spacers their basically 18x8. I didn't think they'd rub on the fenders. But when you hit those bumps, well, they rub. I need to find one of these things now. Remember kids, be responsible. When in doubt, roll your fenders.
I also have trouble finding places to rent fender rollers, and the shop is charging 25 dollars per tire. That's 100 plus tax for a simple roll. Can anyone recommend a place online to rent these things? Tire Rack sells these thigns for like 300 dollars, but they don't rent.

I know a lot of guys pass them around on forums, but I'd just pay the $100 if you know the shop does good work.

The place I was recommended was in Brooklyn (which is pretty alright, but I'd have to cross into NY, which costs me in tolls alone). I don't really trust the shops around here. I guess i'll look around.

Well, that makes it a little different. Check around different forums though. A lot of guys pass them around. I'm sure somebody around you has one.

Back in the old days people rolled their fenders by sticking a baseball bat between the tire and the fender lip and then rolling the car forward while the tire forced the bat into the gap and rolled the lip flatter.
Also, why do you need wheel spacers? How thick are they? Reason I ask is that the kind that slip over the lugs are bad news, because they sometimes cause the lugs to break or the lug nuts to loosen.
The better kind are the the wheel adapters, that bolt onto the lugs and have lugs that the wheels bolt onto. These have to be a certain minimum thickness though.

I would just buy a used one on ebay and use it to do your car, then resell it back on ebay and get most of your money back.

dude your over thinking it! haha. All you need is a phone book, preferably a wooden baseball bat (a large metal pipe will do), and a floor jack.
This is the ultimate in JDM techniques* me and my friend used on his miata. Jack up the car. Put phonebook against fender, put bat between book and tire, lower the jack. begin to roll! Who needs tools anyways!
*only applies to cars with paint and body you dont care about.
(yes we did do this, and actually ended up not using the phone book and directly put the metal pipe to his fender... and rolling it. It came out... okay... but at least it stopped his rubbing. However, we scrapped the paint right off. So theres that)
personally, id never use this jdm technique on my lude. since i prefer to keep my paint. haha. but it can be done!
